Kingswinford, UK – MTI Welding Technologies, Ltd. didn’t allow the challenges of COVID-19 to dampen its Christmas spirit. In fact, in 2020, the spirit was stronger than ever – thanks to the employees’ giving hearts.
To help keep staff as healthy and safe as possible, MTI UK decided to cancel its annual Christmas party. But with that cancellation, employees formulated an idea to support their community in a whole new way. MTI UK collectively decided to donate its Christmas party fund to the Black Country Food Bank to support families struggling to put meals on the table amidst the pandemic.
And they didn’t stop there.
Employees also decided to donate their £30.00 gift vouchers to the food bank, further adding to the donation total.
MTI UK then teamed up with the Dudley Rotary Club, which matched MTI’s donation, bringing the total gift to the Black Country Food Bank to £3,000.
MTI staff also donated bags of food to the cause.
MTI is discussing making this an annual fundraising event.
